Review of Pappy Appacha

“Pappy Appacha” is a new malayalam film directed by Mammas. It is another picture of shrewd and notorious father son duo played by Dileep and Incent. There had been many movies depicting the father-son combos in Malayalam. They have built up a business world consisting of hospital, school, bar and many institutions. Annie (Kavya Madhavan) plays as a teacher who was appointed in their school. Annies father is a social activist. She raised her voice against the dishonest deeds of Paappy (Dileep) and Appachan (Incent).

When the bussiness is not doing so good they resort to insurance fraud.

Kavya Madhavan plays the role of a school teacher Annie in this movie run by the father and the son. Annie had besotted Paappy ( Dileep). Both had a dispute while they were in school after Pappi played a joke on her in school. Annie’s decision to contest election against son changes the plot and things start rolling from there.

Dileep and his mannerisms are given more importance rather than the story. Many comedy scenes are not up to the mark. Dileep could have appreciated better with out untimely comedy. Kavya Madhavan played a decent role as teacher. However, this time Kavya -Dileep chemistry is not up to the mark.

All others in the cast including the villain role played by Suresh Krishna and Asokan, who plays a rich man, are ok. Music is directed by Vidyasagar and the movie by Mammas. Only kids can stand overdone comedy of Dileep.

Main Cast: Dileep, Kavya Madhavan, Suresh Krishna, KPAC Lalitha, Asokan, Rajeev, Kochupreman, Majeed Edavanakad, Manikandan, Chembil Asokan, Thesni Khan, Manju Raghavan and others
